"Binchou" is a piece of charcoal, which Binchou-tan wears atop her head. "Tan" refers to a "cute girl", which this series is about.

Binchou-tan is a cute series; Binchou doesn't exactly say anything; rather, these little episodes are about 10-15 minutes long and tell about Binchou-tan's slow but sweet adventures in her home, with smiles, and sweet cuteness galore. (If you're looking for hyper cuteness like Digi Charat or Pita Ten, I'm sorry; it's not like that.) Good for relaxing.
